[00:00:00] It's too slippery. Do it. That's what she said. There's your intro. Welcome to the Incoherent

[00:00:15] Fangirl. Where we are back from spring break, but I do still have a margarita. And you got

[00:00:22] it open. I did. It was a struggle. You got there in the end. I have water. I'm the sole

[00:00:28] adult in my house tonight. Josh is in Nevada. He's closer to you than he is to me.

[00:00:33] I waved to him in the air.

[00:00:37] I'm Mandy of Waning Bay, Michigan.

[00:00:40] And I am Karin of Vornik. Welcome back to the podcast friends.

[00:00:45] Hello.

[00:00:49] All right. So we did miss a week. So in our timeline, it is currently April 11th and

[00:00:54] in y'all's timeline, it is April 19th, which is our friend Taylor's birthday and the day

[00:00:59] before my brother's birthday. So happy birthday everybody.

[00:01:04] All right, Mandy, tell me what you did this week and last week in fangirling if

[00:01:11] you're so inclined.

[00:01:13] I will. I'm glad like I'm kind of glad we didn't record last week because it couldn't

[00:01:17] have recorded last week when we are normally do anyways, because we decided it was chaotic

[00:01:22] and we were like, OK, all of the kids in our lives are on spring break. Like, let's just

[00:01:25] not you were traveling. So it's like, let's just not. And then the night that I'm

[00:01:30] like rushing home to like I would have been rushing home to record a migraine.

[00:01:35] Yeah. And so I wouldn't have been able to record anyways. I was in my bed.

[00:01:39] But before that happened, I was like I almost before the migraine hit and the

[00:01:44] migraine probably came because of this. Honestly, I was like I would have been so

[00:01:48] pumped to come on and tell you this story.

[00:01:50] OK, as I text, I put it on Facebook and I text you some of it, I think.

[00:01:53] But let me tell you about the library card debacle.

[00:01:57] Oh, my gosh. I'm so excited to hear the full story.

[00:02:01] So this is no judgment, no shame to the adult involved in this thing that

[00:02:07] happened years ago. The twins when they were very young were like they

[00:02:12] were library cards were made for them to be able to go check out little

[00:02:15] kiddie books or whatever. And then some of those books never found their way

[00:02:19] back to the library. It's not the kids fault, but I had a library card when I

[00:02:24] was their age and my mom would forget to bring books back or I'd lose them

[00:02:27] or whatever. Not any shame, whatever.

[00:02:30] But they're into books. One of them in particular, she doesn't really like

[00:02:34] to physically read that often. When she does, she's like in it.

[00:02:37] But I was like use Libby. You could use Libby and get audiobooks because

[00:02:41] she can do an audiobook. And so she was using mine for a while and I was

[00:02:44] like, let's just see if you can find your library card.

[00:02:47] Find your number and find that her card has been blocked and she's got fines.

[00:02:51] And so it's like, OK, sister does too.

[00:02:52] And so it's been this whole thing of trying to figure out how to get

[00:02:56] them to the library. And I finally we're on spring break.

[00:02:59] I get off work early one day. I go get them.

[00:03:01] Or I think I had them, obviously they were already here.

[00:03:04] I'm like, let's go to the library right up the street.

[00:03:07] We're going to pay off your fines.

[00:03:09] We're going to get you library cards in good standing so that y'all can

[00:03:14] get audiobooks and e-books.

[00:03:15] And if I don't have the next book in the series you want or if I don't have

[00:03:19] the book, you can use Libby.

[00:03:21] We go in and this lady, she's like, she's the librarian and she's talking to me.

[00:03:26] She's hurt. I guess this is just her demeanor.

[00:03:28] It's like everyone's a kindergartener.

[00:03:31] Everyone is a kindergartener.

[00:03:32] So I say, hey, I'm here with my nieces.

[00:03:34] This is a kind of a unique circumstance.

[00:03:35] I'm their guardian. Their dad is overseas.

[00:03:38] I want to pay off their library cards.

[00:03:40] I want to get their cards set up so that they can use them.

[00:03:43] And she's like, well, we can't look up library cards.

[00:03:47] And I was one of the girls that even had her library card on her phone.

[00:03:51] So she's like, but this is my number.

[00:03:52] Like here's the back of it where you can see, like I wrote my name when I

[00:03:56] was like six and the lady is like, well, no.

[00:03:59] And even if we could look it up, if you're not the adult on the card.

[00:04:02] And I was like, okay, the, the adult on the card is not even a parent.

[00:04:06] Like it's a relative, but it's not a parent.

[00:04:09] Are you telling me that her parent couldn't go up there and do it?

[00:04:12] Yeah, the person that's it's that person's responsibility.

[00:04:16] These, this debt is their responsibility.

[00:04:18] And I'm like, I'm, I'm telling you got a debit card.

[00:04:20] I want to take responsibility.

[00:04:23] I want to pay it off.

[00:04:24] And she just, she's looking at me like this is the most insane request

[00:04:29] she's ever heard that she's never thought in a million years that

[00:04:32] someone would want to pay off a library card, like it's this foreign

[00:04:35] concept and she just keeps saying, and I'm like, I have their names.

[00:04:39] I have their government issued drivers permits.

[00:04:41] Like this is a government issued ID.

[00:04:43] You can see their faces, like their address is like, I just want to let

[00:04:49] these kids be able to like, I want the kids to use the library.

[00:04:52] Right.

[00:04:53] I feel like Michael from TikTok would be losing his mind.

[00:04:57] Yes.

[00:04:57] Michael would have not said anything.

[00:05:00] He's just like, oh, he'd have been like, yeah, let's do it.

[00:05:02] So she was like, well, it was, it looks like she asked me what

[00:05:06] library they set them up and I was like, I don't know.

[00:05:09] Probably the next County over for me, because that's where they live.

[00:05:12] Well, you might could call them and have them look it up.

[00:05:15] I said, and she had told me, I can't look it up.

[00:05:17] So I said, so you're saying you can't look it up.

[00:05:19] I said, but if I were to go out in the parking lot and call you,

[00:05:22] you can look it up.

[00:05:23] And she kind of freezes and she goes, well, now that you've

[00:05:25] told me that you're going to do that, I just won't answer the

[00:05:28] like questions when you call.

[00:05:30] And I'm like, is it, I'm not asking to open a credit card.

[00:05:33] Right.

[00:05:34] I'm not literally trying to encourage children to read.

[00:05:39] Isn't that the job of a librarian?

[00:05:42] Yes.

[00:05:42] Like, what are you doing?

[00:05:45] And there was a man there working as well who like, I could tell he

[00:05:50] really wanted to interject and like try and help me, but then he was

[00:05:54] also trying to keep the peace with his coworker.

[00:05:57] So he, he just kind of like, he would try to interject,

[00:05:59] but then he would stay out of it.

[00:06:01] So finally she was like, well, I would just call the library

[00:06:03] system where you got this, even though Georgia has Georgia Pines.

[00:06:07] It is the entire state library system.

[00:06:09] So anyways, we go out to the parking lot.

[00:06:11] I call the library closest to their house.

[00:06:13] I explain the situation and the lady says, come here.

[00:06:17] Just come here.

[00:06:18] So I go out there, the ladies there were wonderful.

[00:06:21] They waived every fee that they could, but there were $70 in

[00:06:26] charges that they could not waive.

[00:06:29] And they got sent.

[00:06:29] Those were the ones that were sent to collections.

[00:06:32] They sent children to collections.

[00:06:35] No, no, the adults on their account.

[00:06:37] Okay.

[00:06:37] The adults on their account.

[00:06:39] And they're like, well, you know, if they check books out and don't return

[00:06:42] them now that you'll be responsible.

[00:06:44] And it's like, yes, I know, but now they're not going to check out physical

[00:06:47] books, they're more ebook and audio book now they're not six anymore.

[00:06:51] We're not, and they're not six anymore.

[00:06:53] They know that if they check out a library, it has to be returned.

[00:06:56] Like they even were able to tell them what books they had.

[00:06:58] They had a DVD checked out.

[00:07:01] So that was the whole thing.

[00:07:02] I'm happy to report after the whole festival of nonsense.

[00:07:06] They both have Libby.

[00:07:09] Congratulations girls.

[00:07:11] Gosh.

[00:07:12] It was just, and so of course we're like leaving to go home and I had to

[00:07:17] pick up some, I guess it's my grocery order and as we're leaving the

[00:07:20] grocery store, I was like, Oh, I'm getting a migraine.

[00:07:22] I started getting the aura and all the light.

[00:07:24] I was like, thanks librarian lady.

[00:07:27] You can even call yourself that.

[00:07:29] No, I would strip her of her title.

[00:07:31] That's not a librarian.

[00:07:33] A library would encourage children to read, would do everything possible.

[00:07:38] Yeah.

[00:07:39] Like that.

[00:07:39] I wanted to pretty woman her and go back in and be like, Oh, here's

[00:07:44] their library cards that County got to claim all of the money and

[00:07:49] yeah, fines coming in.

[00:07:51] So, but it could be the bigger person.

[00:07:55] Ew.

[00:07:55] I hate it when we're really big person.

[00:07:57] Yeah.

[00:07:58] Whatever.

[00:07:58] Okay.

[00:07:59] I feel like you kind of, I've got several books to tell you about.

[00:08:03] Oh good.

[00:08:03] Cause I have barely anything.

[00:08:05] Okay.

[00:08:06] We're going to swap places.

[00:08:07] Okay.

[00:08:08] So I have, I don't remember when I started it, but I read a

[00:08:12] tempest of tea by Hufza Faisal.

[00:08:14] So it's a heist story, which we've established.

[00:08:17] I love.

[00:08:17] So we've got Arthi who is this criminal mastermind.

[00:08:20] She's like the Kaz Brekker of this book and she runs a tea room

[00:08:24] with her adopted brother, Jen.

[00:08:26] Hey.

[00:08:27] So during the day, the tea room, which is called spend drift is this like

[00:08:31] really beloved spot in white roaring.

[00:08:34] It's like very prim and proper and like you want to go there.

[00:08:36] But then as soon as the sun goes down, it transforms into a very

[00:08:40] illegal blood house for vampires.

[00:08:44] Because I mean, there's money to be made.

[00:08:46] Yeah.

[00:08:47] There's money to be made in selling blood to vampires.

[00:08:49] So Atenia's tyrannical king figure is known as the Ram.

[00:08:54] No one's ever seen the Ram's face.

[00:08:56] The Ram hides behind a mask, but he is like the boss of the whole area.

[00:09:01] Well, he threatens spend drift.

[00:09:03] And so Arthi is like, you messed with the wrong one.

[00:09:07] Um, so she, Jen and this rag tag cast of like characters that they pick up

[00:09:13] along the way hatched this plot to steal the Ram's ledgers and like bring

[00:09:18] him down, like we're going to find where all of your money's going.

[00:09:21] We're going to blow it all up.

[00:09:24] I'm here for it.

[00:09:24] You're done.

[00:09:25] Yeah.

[00:09:26] It gives a lot of six of crows vibes, which I freaking love, but I haven't

[00:09:32] watched it, but a lot of people say it also gives a lot of peaky blinders.

[00:09:36] And it is like, it's, it's like the environment and the clothes and the way

[00:09:41] people talk is like a peaky blinders vibe for sure.

[00:09:44] But then you've got like this rag tag band of misfits who are

[00:09:47] like, we're going to do that thing.

[00:09:50] Huxa is a sadist.

[00:09:52] I will tell you that.

[00:09:54] I listened to it on an audio and at the end, there was an interview where her

[00:09:58] husband, Casey was like interviewing her, asking her questions.

[00:10:00] And he was like, why do you like to hurt people?

[00:10:03] Why do you like to hurt your readers?

[00:10:05] Why do you torture us?

[00:10:06] And she's like, yeah, that's fun.

[00:10:11] So yeah, love to tempest city by Huxa Faisal.

[00:10:14] I read the game changer by Lana Ferguson.

[00:10:17] Her girl.

[00:10:18] So you've got Ian who was this beloved pro hockey player in Boston

[00:10:23] until this scandal forced him to move from Boston to play for a Canadian team.

[00:10:29] And he's been there for like six years.

[00:10:31] He's back in Boston, but reception hasn't been great because people really

[00:10:35] don't have enough to talk about.

[00:10:36] So they try to like dig back the drama back up.

[00:10:39] And so he kind of needs to clean up his image.

[00:10:41] Enter Delilah, his best friend's little sister, who is all grown up now.

[00:10:45] She has that cable baking show called whiskey business.

[00:10:49] It is whiskey business.

[00:10:51] That's at risk of being canceled due to low viewership.

[00:10:54] And so Delilah says, well, let's have Ian on the show.

[00:10:57] It could bring like hockey viewers who want to, the hockey fans will

[00:11:02] want to tune in and watch him.

[00:11:03] But the chemistry between them on that episode blows up.

[00:11:07] So of course both of their teams are like, you want your

[00:11:10] show to not get canceled?

[00:11:11] Fake date this guy.

[00:11:12] And they're like, you want to clean up your image?

[00:11:14] Fake date the baker.

[00:11:16] Like what are you doing?

[00:11:18] We know what happens when fake dating comes into play in a Lana Ferguson

[00:11:23] book, especially need I say more loved it.

[00:11:29] 10 out of 10 recommend anything.

[00:11:31] Lana Ferguson or she could write the alphabet and I would be like, give it.

[00:11:34] I want it now speaking of someone who could write the

[00:11:37] alphabet and I would love it.

[00:11:38] I think it's a Libro.fm.

[00:11:41] I got funny story by Emily Henry and ALC and advanced listening copy.

[00:11:46] So we've got Daphne who's a children's librarian and she's engaged to Peter.

[00:11:51] Who's basically a perfect robot.

[00:11:53] He's like a wheatgrass eating gym rat with a rigid schedule and he's perfect.

[00:11:58] Like it's never been my vibe.

[00:12:00] Okay.

[00:12:01] Ever.

[00:12:01] But I picture like a Fabio Chris Hemsworth type, like big and beefy

[00:12:07] and everybody's like, yes, Dawn, you know, and, and you're like,

[00:12:11] where's your brother?

[00:12:13] Yeah.

[00:12:13] You've got to have a dark haired brother somewhere who's like living in a basement

[00:12:18] because the thought of seeing people just doesn't do it for him.

[00:12:21] Okay.

[00:12:22] So he, they were getting married in like two months.

[00:12:26] Peter goes on his bachelor party trip and comes home to tell Daphne that

[00:12:31] he's realized he's in love with his best friend Petra.

[00:12:34] They break up with their significant others upon the return of this

[00:12:38] to returning on this trip.

[00:12:39] And so Daphne is Peter's fiance and Petra breaks up with her like

[00:12:44] long time serious boyfriend, Miles.

[00:12:46] But Peter tells Daphne not to worry that he and Petra are going to go on a

[00:12:50] trip for a week so she can move out to give her time to move out of the

[00:12:54] house because the house was in his name because he's wealthy and she's not.

[00:12:59] And so their plan when they were engaged was you buy all the furniture

[00:13:03] cause she didn't have the money to like buy a house.

[00:13:05] So he's like, well, I'll just buy the house.

[00:13:07] How about you furnish it?

[00:13:09] So Daphne doesn't have any friends locally.

[00:13:13] She'd gotten this dream job in the town where Peter wanted to live,

[00:13:17] where his family was.

[00:13:18] And so she's like, Oh my gosh, everything's falling into place.

[00:13:22] So she goes to the only place she can think of miles and proposes like

[00:13:26] we've got to be like, I don't have anywhere to go.

[00:13:28] Luckily for her miles is an angel.

[00:13:31] And so he's like, of course, of course I have a spare bedroom.

[00:13:34] It is yours as long as you need it.

[00:13:36] I know the pain you're going through.

[00:13:39] Literally.

[00:13:40] I know what you're going through.

[00:13:42] Yeah.

[00:13:43] So they're basically like ships passing in the night most of the time,

[00:13:47] like they'll exchange pleasantries if they're like in the living room

[00:13:51] together or like are you still texture?

[00:13:53] You need this last piece of pizza or whatever.

[00:13:56] But they're not like, they don't have really talk talk until the

[00:14:01] wedding invitations arrive.

[00:14:03] Yes.

[00:14:04] Peter and Petra like two months, maybe after breaking up with them, send a

[00:14:09] wedding invitation to each of them.

[00:14:12] So they end up going out, getting wasted and RSVP into the wedding.

[00:14:18] Oh my God.

[00:14:19] Miles says it like we should go.

[00:14:22] And she's like, I would never.

[00:14:23] And he's like, no, we should go and just like show them what

[00:14:27] they're missing, blah, blah, blah.

[00:14:29] Missing blah, blah, blah.

[00:14:31] And so Peter calls her when they've like, I think she's might be back in

[00:14:35] her bedroom or they're not standing there together at the moment.

[00:14:38] And Peter says, well, you don't have to come right?

[00:14:41] Like he's trying to get, they sent the RSVP to hurt, not expecting

[00:14:47] to send the invitation, not expecting to get an RSVP.

[00:14:50] And so Daphne says, uh, no, I'm coming.

[00:14:53] He says, you, you didn't even put a plus one.

[00:14:55] She says, yeah, I know because I'm coming with my

[00:14:58] boyfriend who's already got his own invitation.

[00:15:01] And Peter's like, your boyfriend has an invitation and she's like, yeah, miles.

[00:15:07] Thankfully miles is like, hell yeah.

[00:15:10] Hell yeah.

[00:15:10] We're big dating.

[00:15:11] And he like starts taking like selfies all like snuggling with her.

[00:15:15] It's so cute.

[00:15:16] I'm obsessed.

[00:15:17] Like miles might be my favorite Emily Henry man yet.

[00:15:20] Honestly love him.

[00:15:23] So it's I'm dating my ex fiance's new fiance's ex.

[00:15:28] I actually wrote a blog post about it today and I think I called it something like help.

[00:15:33] I'm dating my ex fiance's new fiance's ex.

[00:15:39] Yeah.

[00:15:40] So it's super freaking cute.

[00:15:42] I'm obsessed.

[00:15:43] I'm obsessed with miles.

[00:15:44] I'm obsessed with the friends that Daphne finds in, like the

[00:15:47] coworker at the library, Ashley, the whole little town, um, waning bay

[00:15:51] Michigan, which is where I'm from this week, Peter and Patrick can go

[00:15:55] die.

[00:15:56] I love Daphne.

[00:15:57] She's got some like childhood trauma that was very relatable to me.

[00:16:01] And so I was like, I felt like a kindred soul with her.

[00:16:04] Love it.

[00:16:05] Love it.

[00:16:05] Live it.

[00:16:06] I feel like that one was very good.

[00:16:08] Wouldn't have made your library experience that awful.

[00:16:11] No, she would have been like, you want the kids to read?

[00:16:14] She's got like this one little bestie in the town.

[00:16:16] Who's like a 13 year old kid who just comes in once a week to get a

[00:16:20] book recommendation and then they have like their own little book

[00:16:22] recommendations and then they have like their own little book recommendations.

[00:16:25] And then they have a little personal book club.

[00:16:27] Once you read it, I'm obsessed with her.

[00:16:30] Yeah.

[00:16:30] Love her.

[00:16:31] I think the kid's name was Mia, but yeah, Daphne.

[00:16:35] I love you.

[00:16:36] I'm so, I'm like almost done, but not quite today.

[00:16:40] I started one that I don't know about.

[00:16:42] Okay.

[00:16:43] This is another ALC from Libro.fm and it's called how to end a

[00:16:47] love story by Yulin Huang.

[00:16:49] I've heard so many good things about it.

[00:16:52] Let me tell you the like, or the listeners, the premise, because I just,

[00:16:56] and I'll tell you why I don't get it.

[00:16:57] Trigger warning.

[00:16:58] There's a trigger warning coming for suicide, technically child

[00:17:02] death and death of a sibling.

[00:17:04] 13 years ago, Helen Zhang's life changed forever when her younger

[00:17:09] sister is tragically struck and killed when she steps out in front of a car.

[00:17:12] All accounts say it was a suicide and like it goes to court, of course,

[00:17:17] because it was a kid, a teenager dying and the court, everyone is like,

[00:17:21] no, this was an accident.

[00:17:23] This is a tragic accident.

[00:17:25] And the driver who was one of Helen's classmates was not at fault.

[00:17:28] Flash forward 13 years and Helen is a bestselling YA author.

[00:17:34] She's moved to LA from the East coast to deal with like,

[00:17:37] to try to get out of writer's block.

[00:17:39] She's having some issues and to start working with a like screenwriting

[00:17:43] team because her book has been picked up and it's going to be made into a TV show.

[00:17:48] One of the writers hired though is Grant Shepherd, who is the

[00:17:51] driver who killed her sister.

[00:17:53] And it's billed as, as a sexy and emotional enemies to lovers.

[00:17:57] And I'm 35% in, okay.

[00:17:59] It's well written, force proximity, obviously, and a lot of trauma to unpack.

[00:18:04] I cannot fathom how it's going to make it be lovers and be okay.

[00:18:09] And the reason is I have three siblings, okay?

[00:18:12] Whether it's an accident or not, if you are driving the car that kills my

[00:18:17] sibling, I hate you forever.

[00:18:20] I hate you forever.

[00:18:21] I can empathize with how awful and traumatic it must be for you.

[00:18:25] I cannot wish you ill.

[00:18:27] I cannot imagine the amount of forgiveness it would have to take to become

[00:18:32] lovers with someone who was involved in the death of one of my siblings.

[00:18:37] Like I can't fathom it.

[00:18:39] We'll see.

[00:18:40] Apparently there are secrets that are going to come out, but like,

[00:18:42] yeah, I don't know.

[00:18:43] I've heard, I've only heard good things about it.

[00:18:46] It has really, really good star ratings on Goodreads.

[00:18:49] Yeah.

[00:18:50] I've only heard good things about it.

[00:18:52] So I'm, I'm sure it's going to be something where it's like, Oh, twist.

[00:18:56] You didn't see coming, but I'm just like, yeah.

[00:18:59] And I was telling the twins about it.

[00:19:00] I was like, if that was what we call my, they call my sister, Ro Ro.

[00:19:04] If that was Ro Ro, I hate you forever until the day I die.

[00:19:08] And then after, like, if you take my sister or my brothers from me,

[00:19:12] I hate you forever.

[00:19:13] And that's it.

[00:19:14] I guess we'll see.

[00:19:15] Don't be around me.

[00:19:16] Don't look at me.

[00:19:16] I would have immediately been like, I will not work with this person.

[00:19:20] Like, I don't know.

[00:19:22] And I feel like you feel bad for him too, cause it wasn't his fault.

[00:19:24] I've had that, that exact same situation almost happened to a very good friend

[00:19:29] of mine right after high school.

[00:19:30] Someone stepped out in the road in front of her.

[00:19:33] She slammed on the brakes.

[00:19:34] Thank God.

[00:19:35] And when the car stopped, he jumped up on her hood and said, just kill me.

[00:19:38] How could you do that to somebody?

[00:19:41] I'm getting close to done.

[00:19:42] I also started sweet nightmare by Tracy Wolf.

[00:19:45] I'm bitter about it.

[00:19:46] Cause this was supposed to be the series starting with Remy Boudreau, which has

[00:19:52] been bumped till later in the series.

[00:19:54] And I'm mad, but book one is going to follow Clementine who I assume is a

[00:19:58] relative of Calder's from the Crave series because her last name is Calder.

[00:20:03] And she's at the call and that person's you were just known as Calder.

[00:20:07] So they're at the Calder Academy, which is a kind of school, mostly

[00:20:11] prison for teen paranormal for errant teen paranormal.

[00:20:15] So it's like a YDC for kids with magical abilities and attitude.

[00:20:21] Um, I'm not very far in yet, but I am enjoying it because Tracy Wolf wrote it.

[00:20:26] I know I'm going to love it.

[00:20:27] There's I can't remember his name, but there's a character that I'm like,

[00:20:31] are you making me flittery?

[00:20:33] Two more things.

[00:20:34] Josh and I watched wish.

[00:20:36] It is so, so cute.

[00:20:37] Got an all star cast.

[00:20:38] So we've got Ariana DeBose, Chris Pine, Alan Tudyk, Evan Peters.

[00:20:42] There were 5 million classic Disney references.

[00:20:46] Um, so you've got Asha who lives in the kingdom of Rosas where King Magnifico

[00:20:49] takes and safeguards wishes for all the people in the kingdom.

[00:20:53] So like you go and you tell you hand him your wish and it leaves your body

[00:20:58] while he has your wish, which is the deepest, most desperate

[00:21:02] desire of your heart.

[00:21:02] You can't remember it.

[00:21:03] So like you're entrusting him with like a very precious part of you.

[00:21:07] Every month he puts on a wish granting ceremony where someone's wish is

[00:21:10] granted and so they remember it and it comes true.

[00:21:13] So Asha is interviewing to become Magnifico's apprentice and she is

[00:21:16] killing her interview, like they're even singing together.

[00:21:19] Like it's great.

[00:21:21] Well, she gets a little too carried away and she asks the King, well, could

[00:21:25] you grant my grandfather's wish?

[00:21:27] He's a hundred and like I don't condone actions past this.

[00:21:32] Okay.

[00:21:33] But the King is like, I thought this one person was going to be different

[00:21:36] and you are just like everybody else.

[00:21:38] You're asking me for something already.

[00:21:40] You know, he even says something like, usually they wait at least a week or

[00:21:44] something like that, you know, like before.

[00:21:46] So he declines.

[00:21:47] He says that Sabino, which is the grandfather's wish could be dangerous

[00:21:51] because it's too vague and it could threaten his rule.

[00:21:54] So Asha being a strong independent young woman does not accept that

[00:21:58] and makes a wish on a star that ends up floating down to her and making

[00:22:02] all the forest animals talk.

[00:22:04] So she realizes how magical star is.

[00:22:08] She calls it star.

[00:22:10] Asha enlists stars help to rescue her family's wishes from Magnifico.

[00:22:14] She's like, if you're going to take wishes from people that don't remember

[00:22:18] them and then never grant them, they should at least have them.

[00:22:20] So the references that I remember off the top of my head, there are

[00:22:23] characters that represent the seven dwarfs.

[00:22:26] There's a Beauty and the Beast inspired wagon with legs, the

[00:22:29] fairy godmother's cloak, Peter Pan shows up, the three blind mice are

[00:22:33] there, there's this little thing from Bambi, Merlin is kind of, there's

[00:22:38] one of the animals dances like Merlin does, there's mushrooms that say,

[00:22:41] we love crazy sleeping beauty's dress, the horse from Tangle.

[00:22:45] There's hidden Mickey's, there's a Zootopia reference.

[00:22:48] It is insane.

[00:22:49] And so like we, Josh and I watched it and we made it almost like a game

[00:22:52] of like, that was a jungle book.

[00:22:56] Is that Hey Hey in the background?

[00:22:57] Like it's so fun.

[00:22:58] If you're a Disney person, watch Wish.

[00:23:02] It's so cute.

[00:23:03] Last thing and this one's quick.

[00:23:04] Vanderpump rules.

[00:23:05] Nothing thrilling has been going on, but the girls finally got Ariana to

[00:23:09] realize and admit that this fantasy of my dream house isn't worth all of

[00:23:17] the trauma that she's putting herself through fighting Tom to, to I'm

[00:23:22] not gonna, you know, I'm not leaving until you leave.

[00:23:25] And this looking down on living in an apartment temporarily.

[00:23:28] She's got like her nose up at apartments.

[00:23:31] I'm not gonna live in an apartment.

[00:23:33] You live with your ex and you send assistance to go between tell Tom I'm

[00:23:39] having a peanut butter and jelly.

[00:23:40] And if he eats the last of the peanut butter, well, he said that

[00:23:42] he's going to eat the jelly.

[00:23:44] It's crazy.

[00:23:45] And so she, it's, it's insane.

[00:23:47] So she finally admits that none of the things that she's putting

[00:23:51] herself through are worth it.

[00:23:53] And so it seems like she's in the next few episodes, she's

[00:23:55] going to bow out of the house.

[00:23:56] However, that fall that goes down, I know that in real time, she

[00:24:00] did just buy a house.

[00:24:02] So I know that in the end she's out of that house, but I don't

[00:24:05] know how it gets there yet.

[00:24:07] So that's a little Vanderpump update and that is finally week.

[00:24:10] I feel like you, I read so much.

[00:24:13] I haven't done that in a long time.

[00:24:15] I've been painting.

[00:24:16] I've been painting my bedroom.

[00:24:17] And so it's just been audio books.

[00:24:19] Yeah, they are a blessing.

[00:24:21] They go by quick too.

[00:24:24] All right.

[00:24:24] After that long winded rant, what did you do this week or this

[00:24:29] last couple of weeks?

[00:24:31] I have been in a bit of a reading slump actually.

[00:24:35] That's fine.

[00:24:36] I feel like I've been kind of just overwhelmed with choices.

[00:24:39] And so I shut down.

[00:24:40] Yeah.

[00:24:41] It happens.

[00:24:42] And that's how I ended up on TikTok for hours at a time.

[00:24:45] It's like, do I want to pick up my Kindle?

[00:24:46] Do I want an audio book?

[00:24:47] Do I want a physical book?

[00:24:48] I don't know.

[00:24:48] I'll scroll on TikTok.

[00:24:49] It's too much.

[00:24:50] It's too much.

[00:24:51] Um, but I did read a couple of things.

[00:24:53] I finished the Spirit Well by RK Ashwick.

[00:24:57] Um, it's the followup to the stray spirit.

[00:25:00] And following the events of the stray spirit, which I won't say

[00:25:03] anything about because spoilers, Emory and Cal and Aspen are kind

[00:25:08] of have newfound fame and Emory and the group kind of gets tasked

[00:25:14] with something and they go to a, uh, I think it's called Matlock

[00:25:21] as the city, they go to Matlock for the season.

[00:25:24] And when I say for the season, it is very much what you're

[00:25:27] thinking.

[00:25:28] Bridgerton vibes.

[00:25:29] For the season.

[00:25:31] And they're there for detective-y reasons, but they're also there

[00:25:36] because things can happen during the season specifically for our very

[00:25:42] special second chance romance friends.

[00:25:45] And so it's very cute.

[00:25:48] RK really manages to balance the like intrigue and mystery and like

[00:25:54] the detective story with the romance that is happening.

[00:25:58] And it's great.

[00:26:00] There's new characters introduced that I love, and I hope that we get

[00:26:04] to see them again in book three.

[00:26:06] And it was just, it's RK Ashwick, you know, this one's a little

[00:26:10] bit more little, it's still a cozy fantasy.

[00:26:14] I would still call it a cozy fantasy, but it's a little more like

[00:26:17] high stakes.

[00:26:18] Ooh, I'm intrigued.

[00:26:21] Yeah.

[00:26:22] I think y'all are really going to like it.

[00:26:24] I really, I had a blast.

[00:26:26] It was really good.

[00:26:27] I read the next book in the Percy Jackson series, The Sea of

[00:26:31] Monsters.

[00:26:32] So this one we follow Percy and Annabeth as they go to try and

[00:26:41] find Grover who they believe is in trouble.

[00:26:44] And they kind of managed to do this because, oh no, Thalia's

[00:26:49] tree has been poisoned and it's affecting the border around Camp

[00:26:54] Halfblood.

[00:26:55] The Halfbloods are no longer safe because of this.

[00:26:59] And so they request to go on a quest and the new camp director

[00:27:05] or activities director, I forget, Kyren is out because they think

[00:27:09] that Kyren had something to do with the poisoning.

[00:27:12] So there's a new-

[00:27:13] Yeah, cause he's the type.

[00:27:15] Yeah, right.

[00:27:16] And so there's a new activities director who is not a fan of them

[00:27:21] no matter what they do.

[00:27:23] And so he sends Clarice out on this quest instead, Clarice,

[00:27:27] daughter of Ares, who is not a fan of them either, but you

[00:27:32] know, Hermes comes and is like, no, no, you guys, you guys

[00:27:36] should really go on this, this adventure as well.

[00:27:39] So they end up going out with a new character named Tyson who is

[00:27:45] revealed to be more related to these characters than we initially think.

[00:27:50] And so we've got Percy and Annabeth and Tyson going on an adventure

[00:27:55] to find the golden fleece, which is the only thing that can heal

[00:28:02] Thalia's tree and also happens to be where Grover has been kind of

[00:28:08] kidnapped slash held prisoner.

[00:28:10] And so they're going to save Grover, but also save the camp at

[00:28:12] the same time.

[00:28:13] And there is a surprise at the end, which I knew the surprise.

[00:28:18] I just thought it happened in book one for some reason, but it did not.

[00:28:23] It did not happen in book one.

[00:28:24] It happens in book two.

[00:28:25] And if you've read the Percy Jackson series, you know exactly what I'm

[00:28:28] talking about.

[00:28:29] You're like rustling them all up for me.

[00:28:31] It's been like a long time.

[00:28:33] Exactly.

[00:28:34] So I'm like, I know the big plot points, but I don't remember when they

[00:28:38] happen.

[00:28:39] So book two, which means season two of the Percy Jackson series, it's going

[00:28:45] to happen and everybody's going to be like, what if they haven't, though

[00:28:50] maybe not because hopefully most people have read Percy Jackson at this point.

[00:28:55] True.

[00:28:56] That's fair.

[00:28:57] Other than like the youngins.

[00:28:58] Yeah, the youngins still need to read it.

[00:29:00] I'm like kind of super jealous that they get to experience it for the

[00:29:03] first time.

[00:29:04] Like it's not the same, but in a funny story, Daphne makes Miles read Narnia.

[00:29:10] I've never read Narnia.

[00:29:12] I know.

[00:29:14] I don't know that I finished them, but I, yeah.

[00:29:16] It's on the list.

[00:29:17] But yeah, so it, you know, it's Percy Jackson.

[00:29:19] It was a good time.

[00:29:20] And I write as I was finishing book two, my hold for book three was

[00:29:25] ready.

[00:29:26] I love when that happens.

[00:29:28] Well, it's funny because as I was reading book two, my hold for book

[00:29:31] five was ready.

[00:29:33] And I was like, no, no, I need you to hold off for a little bit.

[00:29:35] But then as I finished book three was ready, I was like, okay, I'm good with

[00:29:39] this.

[00:29:40] Thank you.

[00:29:40] And then the last thing that I read in like the past two weeks is it's

[00:29:46] called public anchovy number one.

[00:29:48] It is book three in the deep dish mystery series by Mindy Quigley.

[00:29:52] And it follows the, it's a deep dish style pizza restaurant in, I want to

[00:29:59] say Wisconsin called Delilah and Sone.

[00:30:02] And in this book in particular, they have secured kind of a high profile

[00:30:09] catering gig that Delilah is hoping is going to help them kind of get

[00:30:15] through the leaner months of the year because where they live, Geneva Bay

[00:30:20] is very much a touristy kind of place.

[00:30:23] And so when the regulars leave and tourists, it's, you know,

[00:30:28] fluctuation in businesses.

[00:30:29] And so they're really hoping that this catering gig is going to pad their,

[00:30:33] you know, checking account as well as open up more opportunities for them.

[00:30:38] So they go to this mansion to do the catering gig.

[00:30:42] It's like way out of the way, very isolated.

[00:30:46] It takes like, I don't know, something like four hours round trip to get

[00:30:50] there and back kind of thing.

[00:30:51] So it's very much like out of the way and everything's going great until a

[00:30:57] dead body literally crashes the party.

[00:31:00] Oh, rude.

[00:31:00] And so of course this ends the party and as they're packing up and getting ready

[00:31:05] to go, most of the people have left.

[00:31:07] Unfortunately, the people who are left behind, including all of Delilah's

[00:31:11] staff are now trapped because there is a tree that has fallen down and is

[00:31:16] blocking the path and they are not really a priority to leave because the

[00:31:20] body is already dead.

[00:31:22] And so the police are like, we'll get to you when we get to you.

[00:31:25] And also the one of the police detectives, Calvin Capone and yes, related

[00:31:30] to Al Capone was at this party.

[00:31:34] But he's a cop.

[00:31:35] Oh, for shame.

[00:31:36] You're great granddaddy.

[00:31:38] Whatever is.

[00:31:41] He's a very hunky cop and Delilah has quite the crush on him.

[00:31:45] And it is very much a slow burn for these two.

[00:31:49] I love a slow burn.

[00:31:50] I love a slow burn.

[00:31:51] It's book three and nothing has happened.

[00:31:53] So slow burn.

[00:31:56] But so they are all trapped at this mansion and they're like, okay, well,

[00:32:01] we'll get through the night and then, you know, the police will handle

[00:32:04] everything in the morning once the storm has died down and everything.

[00:32:08] Unfortunately, turns out they actually might be stuck in this

[00:32:12] mansion with the murderer.

[00:32:14] Dun dun dun.

[00:32:15] Well, I guess it wouldn't be a surprise.

[00:32:17] I thought you were going to say the dead body, but I guess with

[00:32:20] that dead body.

[00:32:20] So, so yeah, they kind of have to do a low key under the table kind of

[00:32:28] investigation to make sure that they are all staying safe and surviving

[00:32:32] the night because one of the people that they are with is a murderer.

[00:32:38] And it's a good time.

[00:32:40] It's a good time.

[00:32:40] It's a cozy mystery.

[00:32:41] So even though this one has a little bit more high stakes than the last two

[00:32:46] books because they are kind of force proximity.

[00:32:49] And so the murder is getting a little more frantic, but it is still very

[00:32:55] much a cozy mystery and I just, I don't know, it's a good time.

[00:33:00] Like any time anybody says a cozy mystery, I think of Michael Scott.

[00:33:05] There's been a murder.

[00:33:10] It's so weird because it's like, oh, there's been a murder, but

[00:33:13] at the same time, you're like, this is fun.

[00:33:14] I'm having a good time.

[00:33:15] And, you know, Mindy Quigley has a way of writing, you know, they have

[00:33:21] the found family of the staff at Delilah and so on, like they would

[00:33:25] go to bat for each other.

[00:33:26] Like two of them, one of them is like having a conversation with

[00:33:30] somebody like outside and it looks like it's getting heated, like

[00:33:34] about to get heated and two of them see this happen and they just

[00:33:36] like barge out there.

[00:33:38] They're like, no, no, no, this is not happening.

[00:33:40] No clue whether or not this person is dangerous or anything.

[00:33:43] Just no, this is our person.

[00:33:44] We don't behave this way.

[00:33:46] And so like the found family is really great.

[00:33:49] The tension and the, you know, yearning between Delilah and

[00:33:56] Capone is there.

[00:33:58] The shippers are gonna enjoy this one, I think.

[00:34:01] And I did not figure out who the killer was until the very end.

[00:34:05] Oh, I didn't know that.

[00:34:07] I love when that happens.

[00:34:08] So it was a good time.

[00:34:10] So that's what I read.

[00:34:11] I did start Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez, but I'm only about 13% in,

[00:34:16] but it's an Abby Jimenez book.

[00:34:18] So I'm already in love.

[00:34:20] Like I have highlighted so much.

[00:34:22] I'm literally 13% in and I've highlighted so much of the book.

[00:34:25] I love Abby.

[00:34:26] Her video was so cute.

[00:34:27] And for those of you who don't know, Abby Jimenez is number one

[00:34:32] New York Times bestseller on the internet.

[00:34:35] Number one, New York Times bestseller on two lists with this book.

[00:34:39] So congrats.

[00:34:40] Double, double.

[00:34:41] I think number two on the USA Today list.

[00:34:44] So congratulations, Abby.

[00:34:46] Well deserved.

[00:34:47] Very nice.

[00:34:49] So I'm really excited to go through that one.

[00:34:52] I'll talk about it more once I finished it.

[00:34:54] And then we are Alexa the other day in our kitchen has a screen and it was

[00:34:58] like telling me to like watch an interview with her or something.

[00:35:01] And I was like, I stopped and I was like, Josh, that's Stuntman.

[00:35:04] Mike's mom.

[00:35:05] And he was like, Stuntman Mike.

[00:35:07] Her mom?

[00:35:08] Or his mom?

[00:35:09] I love that.

[00:35:10] We had a moment where like he doesn't care that she's an author.

[00:35:13] He cares about the stuntman.

[00:35:15] She was on Good Morning America because Just For The Summer is their

[00:35:19] April book pick book club pick.

[00:35:21] So that was very cool.

[00:35:23] It's funny because like before this book came out, Abby had

[00:35:27] posted in her reader group, like this is my author bingo card.

[00:35:30] I want to be invited onto like a nationally televised show.

[00:35:35] I want to hit number one on New York Times.

[00:35:39] I want to manifest her right there.

[00:35:41] I want to I want to see somebody like in the wild holding one of my books,

[00:35:46] like and it can't be something like, oh, they're at one of my book events or

[00:35:49] oh, we're going to like I think she met somebody.

[00:35:52] I had to be walking through the airport.

[00:35:54] Yeah.

[00:35:55] Or like she like she met somebody like at the airport, but they were going to

[00:35:59] the same event she was going to write.

[00:36:01] That doesn't count.

[00:36:02] So like you're just walking in a park, just walking and seeing somebody.

[00:36:06] It's completely random.

[00:36:07] That's my book.

[00:36:08] Yeah.

[00:36:08] I think the other one was like to have one of her books optioned for a movie.

[00:36:12] I feel like there was one more, but I can't remember.

[00:36:14] But like three of those four things I just listed have happened since she

[00:36:18] said that since Just For The Summer came out.

[00:36:20] Listen, so I'm like power of manifestation.

[00:36:23] I we've been telling you guys this for years now.

[00:36:26] It's so powerful and anybody can manifest.

[00:36:30] You just say what you want out loud, believe that it's going to happen

[00:36:36] and it will happen maybe not in your timeline, but look what you're listening

[00:36:40] at that always listening and literally just just the last episode we completed

[00:36:47] one of our like dreams with, you know, like you guys see it in action.

[00:36:52] We have been talking about getting Adam Silver on the podcast.

[00:36:56] For literally years since we started.

[00:36:58] There you go.

[00:36:59] Like I jokingly say a lot, but it's the truth.

[00:37:03] The devil hears what you say, not what you think.

[00:37:05] You can think we'll never, I won't even say negative things like that out loud.

[00:37:11] You can think I will never be able to, I can never this will never, you

[00:37:15] don't have to say those things out loud.

[00:37:16] What you say out loud is I'm going to, I will, I can, and train your

[00:37:21] brain to think that that is what is happening for you.

[00:37:24] Yep.

[00:37:25] So.

[00:37:25] Yeah.

[00:37:26] It's power manifest things, baby.

[00:37:29] So yeah.

[00:37:30] And then I, we, we were on vacation for the last week, not this current

[00:37:37] week we're recording it, but the past week, which is why part of the

[00:37:40] reason why we didn't record because as you said, our kiddos were on

[00:37:44] spring break and I was traveling and it was just, we were going to try,

[00:37:49] but then it was like, we were going to try and then literally, I think

[00:37:53] that was just like the worst possible timing.

[00:37:56] And yeah, you had stuff to do and I was like, I can't do earlier.

[00:38:01] Right.

[00:38:02] And I can't do late, late either.

[00:38:06] Yeah.

[00:38:06] Because it would have been late.

[00:38:09] Yeah.

[00:38:10] Like at that point it would have practically been Friday.

[00:38:13] So it's like why force when we could just tell you guys two

[00:38:19] weeks of things this week, we're just going to be on vacation,

[00:38:22] but I had a good time.

[00:38:23] We traveled.

[00:38:24] My daughter was on spring break and we flew out to visit Beth and her family.

[00:38:30] It was really fun.

[00:38:32] And movie night with Beth in person.

[00:38:34] We did, we did have movie night in person.

[00:38:36] We watched the Taylor Swift heiress tour Taylor's version.

[00:38:41] I hadn't watched it until that point.

[00:38:43] And one of the kids was talking about it and I was like, Oh,

[00:38:47] that should be our movie night movie because I still haven't

[00:38:49] watched it.

[00:38:50] So it was a good time.

[00:38:51] Um, it was really fun because we were watching it and I was like, there's,

[00:38:55] this was, this was multiple nights.

[00:38:57] There's no way they recorded this all in one night because in one scene you

[00:39:01] can see her hair, the humidity has gotten to her like that.

[00:39:04] It's starting to curl and wave in.

[00:39:06] And then the next shot it's like straight and you're like, there's

[00:39:10] yeah, no,

[00:39:11] it's like Hamilton when Angelica had flowers and she didn't.

[00:39:15] And so I was like, you guys, it's not, and we like for, for the

[00:39:20] longest time we were just operating on the idea that it was like one night

[00:39:24] where they recorded it straight through thing.

[00:39:25] And then we started seeing these things.

[00:39:27] I was like, there's no way there's literally no way, but it was fun.

[00:39:31] She puts on a great show, which is not a surprise.

[00:39:34] So that was really fun.

[00:39:36] My daughter decided to watch wish.

[00:39:41] So we started that.

[00:39:43] We didn't finish it because my daughter has a problem with sitting

[00:39:46] through things.

[00:39:49] So we got to the part where Aasha is having her interview and then my daughter

[00:39:53] decided that she was done watching it.

[00:39:56] So she made it like five minutes into the movie.

[00:39:59] I know it was not very far.

[00:40:01] We'll finish it eventually.

[00:40:02] We did binge like the first two season of is it cake, which is wild.

[00:40:08] If y'all have not watched this show, it's so good.

[00:40:11] It's so wild.

[00:40:13] And I'm just like, you're like, I'll be able to tell.

[00:40:16] And then when they finally put them up, you're like, the only reason that we can

[00:40:21] tell is one, we watch them bake it and two, we get the closeups.

[00:40:26] The judges don't.

[00:40:27] Yeah.

[00:40:27] No, I'm saying without the closeups, you're like, Oh, without the

[00:40:31] closeups.

[00:40:31] Yeah.

[00:40:31] Somebody did the stacks of solo cups.

[00:40:34] Yeah.

[00:40:34] Oh my God.

[00:40:35] It's why I couldn't tell you from far away in season two, my favorite in

[00:40:40] season two one, but she did all like somehow managed to do all this, like

[00:40:46] intricate, like stitching, like in like a baseball mitt, like the

[00:40:51] stitching on a baseball glove, like the stitching on like a leather bag.

[00:40:56] Like it was so intricate and I have no idea.

[00:41:00] And it was so good.

[00:41:01] It was yeah.

[00:41:02] So we did that.

[00:41:04] We didn't watch season three, so probably we'll end up doing

[00:41:07] that at some point at home.

[00:41:09] That was fun.

[00:41:10] I can't think of anything else we did.

[00:41:12] Beth's second oldest and her niece are go to the same high school and their

[00:41:18] spring musical was into the woods.

[00:41:20] So she was in the musical.

[00:41:22] He was in the orchestra.

[00:41:24] And so we went and saw them perform two nights.

[00:41:28] We went on opening night, which was on Thursday.

[00:41:30] And then we went for the second performance on Friday and her

[00:41:34] niece played two different parts.

[00:41:35] So we got to see her in really, really cool.

[00:41:39] Um, it was really fun.

[00:41:42] Have you, you've seen into the woods, like at least yeah.

[00:41:45] So, um, Milky white for those of you don't know is a cow that is in this,

[00:41:51] the play the musical and plays kind of a prominent part because the baker

[00:41:57] and his wife have to collect four items and one of them is a cow as

[00:42:01] white as milk.

[00:42:03] And so the, the girl who played Milky white and when, when they do them, like

[00:42:11] in the movie it's different obviously, but when they do it on stage, they have

[00:42:15] like a wooden cutout of a cow that somebody like carries around and is the

[00:42:21] cow.

[00:42:21] And I swear to you, and all of us said this Milky white stole the show.

[00:42:27] Like the actual star of the show was Milky white.

[00:42:31] It was so good.

[00:42:33] It was just so funny.

[00:42:36] So I guess spoiler alerts, if you don't know anything about into the woods, but

[00:42:40] there is a part where Milky white dies unexpectedly and so she's holding the

[00:42:46] cow and they're all fighting over the cow.

[00:42:48] And then the scene where the cow dies, she drops the cow and everybody's

[00:42:53] like gasp and she just like slowly is like inching away and then run the

[00:42:58] stage.

[00:43:00] And then later on when the baker and his wife are giving all the things that

[00:43:06] the, the things that they needed to collect for the witch, they're like,

[00:43:10] here's, here's the cow as white as milk and the witch looks at her and

[00:43:15] I'm not going to say her name.

[00:43:16] So let's pretend that actress's name is, I don't know, Kelly or

[00:43:20] something, not the actual kid's name because privacy, but so they have

[00:43:26] her come out because they have to find another cow.

[00:43:28] So they have her come out in a cow onesie.

[00:43:31] And so this is the new cow, right?

[00:43:33] And so the witch is like, that's not a cow.

[00:43:36] That's Kelly in a onesie.

[00:43:38] And she's standing there and Kelly is standing there just like waving

[00:43:44] like, hi, and then, and then as soon as the witch says that she's like,

[00:43:49] okay, bye and like runs off and she steals the show.

[00:43:53] Like, uh, no lies.

[00:43:55] No lines, just the expressions.

[00:43:58] And she was so good, literally stole the show loved it.

[00:44:02] And then on Saturday when we were flying home, Beth's youngest and her

[00:44:07] second oldest, um, they had like a band concert kind of thing, not a

[00:44:11] concert, but they had solos and ensembles like in the morning and

[00:44:14] they were going to have a band concert later in the day.

[00:44:16] So we went to that in the morning, which was fun.

[00:44:18] It was good to see them perform because I've never seen them perform

[00:44:21] live always over the internet.

[00:44:22] So that was really fun.

[00:44:24] And it was funny because we were standing there and we were watching the boys.

[00:44:29] They, it was one performer at a time.

[00:44:31] And so they did their thing and then the next person will come and we see

[00:44:36] Kelly sitting, standing over on the other side getting ready to come up.

[00:44:41] And I was like, guys, guys, it's Milky white.

[00:44:43] It's Milky white.

[00:44:46] It's scally and Casey, Beth's husband.

[00:44:50] After Kelly does her thing, he's like screaming out, yeah, go Milky white.

[00:44:56] So funny.

[00:44:58] Like literally so much fun.

[00:45:01] I had a blast.

[00:45:02] It was so good to like take some time off of work and spend

[00:45:06] time and all of that.

[00:45:09] So I really enjoyed it.

[00:45:10] The kids, they, there was a, we're calling it an Easter celebration, even

[00:45:14] though we don't really celebrate Easter, nobody really celebrates Easter,

[00:45:17] but they did like a little hunt for the kids and all of that.

[00:45:19] And that was a lot of fun.

[00:45:20] We just watched all the kids run.

[00:45:22] There were so many kids running around and like trying to find eggs.

[00:45:26] And it was a blast.

[00:45:28] And the day before that, my daughter had been like, I'm sad because

[00:45:32] they're doing an Easter egg hunt at boys and girls club.

[00:45:35] And we don't have, when I'm not part of boys and girls club.

[00:45:38] And I was like, well, let me tell you, we're going to have an Easter

[00:45:43] egg hunt tomorrow.

[00:45:44] It's going to be great.

[00:45:46] And she was so excited.

[00:45:47] So it was a good time.

[00:45:49] But yeah, that was pretty much, pretty much my week.

[00:45:52] Not much going on in the bookish department, but you know, it happens.

[00:45:57] It happens.

[00:45:57] I will, I'm slowly like getting out of my rut.

[00:46:01] So we'll get there.

[00:46:02] Ruts are healthy.

[00:46:08] Do you have a fictional boyfriend this week?

[00:46:11] You know what?

[00:46:11] I, I don't have a fictional boyfriend, but I do have a

[00:46:14] couple of fictional besties.

[00:46:16] Once again, our trio from the Lute Song series, Amrie Kal and Aspen

[00:46:21] love them, obsessed with them, want to be their besties forever.

[00:46:25] I love how much they, you know, fight for each other and just want

[00:46:30] everything to be good for each other and are dumb enough to try and

[00:46:34] protect each other by keeping secrets.

[00:46:37] But I love them so much.

[00:46:39] And also like Tyson from Percy Jackson is like the sweetest baby

[00:46:45] angel.

[00:46:45] Like he's just a giant, big, cuddly, dumb, adorable teddy bear.

[00:46:53] Like he's so innocent and he doesn't really know things,

[00:46:57] but like could kill you.

[00:47:02] But yeah, I, yeah.

[00:47:03] So my besties for the week, how about you?

[00:47:06] Any fictional boyfriends?

[00:47:07] Oh, I'm miles into that girlie.

[00:47:09] So he's described as like at first they're like, is he on drugs?

[00:47:16] It's sad because it's just like, he's got a beard and I'm sorry.

[00:47:21] He's a tattooed beard though.

[00:47:22] Okay.

[00:47:23] And if we've seen my husband, I love a tattooed bearded man.

[00:47:31] So, and he's just so understanding and sweet and patient.

[00:47:38] And I love pining a lot miles from funny story.

[00:47:43] I already love him.

[00:47:44] Oh, I can't wait for you to read them.

[00:47:46] You're going to be like, Oh my God.

[00:47:54] I have a little tiny fan girl freestyle.

[00:47:56] Let's do it.

[00:47:57] It's where we're calling it.

[00:47:59] We're going to call April the month of throwbacks because we're throwing

[00:48:03] it back to a fan girl freestyle.

[00:48:06] So let's hear it.

[00:48:07] Mandy, what you got?

[00:48:08] I just want to talk for a minute about how obsessed I am with Huffstuff

[00:48:11] Faisal and her husband, Casey.

[00:48:14] Okay.

[00:48:15] I love their relationship.

[00:48:17] So the latest thing I saw was they're celebrating Eid or I Eid and it's

[00:48:23] the end of Ramadan and all of the fasting is over.

[00:48:26] And so he wants to go buy her some books to celebrate, but he's like,

[00:48:31] I just don't want to pick out books for her.

[00:48:32] So he asks her like what books?

[00:48:34] And so she knows she's getting books, but what she does know is that

[00:48:37] he's building with like, looks like like AutoCAD, like designing in a

[00:48:42] computer system, a computer program, and then literally cutting and building

[00:48:48] precisely a bouquet stand to put these books on for a permanent book bouquet

[00:48:54] that she can change the books out on.

[00:48:57] And has been saving money and surprises her with a Gucci purse.

[00:49:01] Oh my God.

[00:49:03] Adorable.

[00:49:04] Like, so I feel like he would agree in this.

[00:49:07] I, I feel like he's a simp for her and I love it.

[00:49:11] He's gone for her and so obvious and so sweet.

[00:49:14] But what I love even more is that she is like, I am with my husband

[00:49:18] in that she roasts this man.

[00:49:23] Like he posted a picture.

[00:49:25] It was like over her shoulder of her taking a picture of, I think

[00:49:29] it was one of her books.

[00:49:30] It was a cool shot, but she just comments stalker.

[00:49:35] I love her.

[00:49:37] That is how I am with Josh.

[00:49:38] It is one of my greatest joys on this earth to roast that man on social media.

[00:49:44] Like if he, if there's a potential to troll him on something, I am

[00:49:49] going to be the first one to do it.

[00:49:51] I love him.

[00:49:52] He's my favorite person on this earth.

[00:49:54] Okay.

[00:49:55] I love to roast him and does that to her husband and it's great.

[00:49:59] And so I just, I love their love and I wanted to tell the world that

[00:50:03] I find them on social media.

[00:50:04] They're precious.

[00:50:05] I saw literally, I didn't realize it at the time.

[00:50:08] Like I think I was scrolling Instagram and it was one of those

[00:50:11] like suggested reels and it was a man who is building like a

[00:50:16] book nook for his wife with the day bed, with the day bed.

[00:50:21] And I was like, I didn't realize that at the time because I had, I

[00:50:23] didn't look at the like handle or anything, so I was just watching this

[00:50:27] video and at the end the Hafsa walks in and I'm like, Oh my God,

[00:50:31] I know these people.

[00:50:33] Yeah.

[00:50:33] I mean, I don't know them, but like,

[00:50:35] I know that went like insane about that video when we're commenting all

[00:50:39] kinds of like apparently inappropriate stuff.

[00:50:42] Like, and it's like, why don't do that?

[00:50:44] This man loves his wife.

[00:50:46] Leave them alone.

[00:50:47] If you're not going to comment, wow, you guys are so cute.

[00:50:50] Then shut up.

[00:50:51] Like couple goals kind of thing.

[00:50:53] We saw them.

[00:50:55] Yeah.

[00:50:55] At y'all fest.

[00:50:56] I went and you got my line for you.

[00:50:58] Yeah.

[00:50:59] They, like, if you don't know it at first, it was like, cause they

[00:51:03] were like right up on each other.

[00:51:05] And so you're like, are they okay?

[00:51:06] No, it's just that they like each other so much that they

[00:51:09] like want to be snuggling.

[00:51:10] It gives me the vibes, like based on what you've told me, it gives

[00:51:13] me the same vibes as Jared and Sophia.

[00:51:17] Like always kind of like touching and not in like a weird way, just

[00:51:20] like they just want to be close together.

[00:51:22] Yeah.

[00:51:23] And they just love each other so much.

[00:51:25] Magnetic.

[00:51:26] Yeah.

[00:51:27] And like I wish like, I want everybody to find that.

[00:51:30] Yeah.

[00:51:31] That's so sweet.

[00:51:32] I love that.

[00:51:33] That was my little freestyle.

[00:51:34] I just wanted to shout out how cute they are.

[00:51:36] They are so cute.

[00:51:37] That's adorable.

[00:51:39] And her roasting him.

[00:51:40] I love that.

[00:51:40] I live for that.

[00:51:42] I need to go look up this like permanent book bouquet because it sounds amazing.

[00:51:47] I'll go find it and send it to you.

[00:51:48] I saw it, I think earlier today, maybe yesterday.

[00:51:51] I want to see it because that sounds so cute.

[00:51:53] Like, it's really cool.

[00:51:55] He also did, there was one I saw a while back where she needed

[00:51:58] like a pretty storage for her jobs.

[00:52:03] And so he like, I think he designed one based on one of her books and it had

[00:52:07] like where things could swivel out.

[00:52:10] It is so like, yeah.

[00:52:12] So apparently he's like super smart.

[00:52:14] He's something in software, but he also like knows how to like

[00:52:18] precision build things like that.

[00:52:21] Like I could go downstairs and if you give me enough time,

[00:52:23] I could build the table.

[00:52:25] Right.

[00:52:25] You know, like I could build like basic things, but that's

[00:52:28] something that is very precise.

[00:52:30] Yeah.

[00:52:31] That has to be designed.

[00:52:32] Right.

[00:52:33] That is so cute.

[00:52:35] Listen, if it's not something like that, I don't want it guys.

[00:52:39] If he wanted to, if he wanted to, he would, if he would.

[00:52:42] And I don't care so much about the Gucci bag.

[00:52:44] Like she was excited about that.

[00:52:45] That's fine.

[00:52:45] But like the other things are so cool.

[00:52:47] And I, you know, it's funny because a little while back I was talking to

[00:52:52] Beth and I had texted her something.

[00:52:54] I had said something like something, I was making a joke.

[00:52:56] I was like, people, you know, wonder why I'm still single,

[00:52:59] why my standards are so high.

[00:53:01] But then I read books.

[00:53:02] Well that, but also because they'll be like, well, those are fictional people.

[00:53:06] Of course they're great, which yeah.

[00:53:08] Okay.

[00:53:08] I get that.

[00:53:09] But also, and I sent her screenshots and it was one of them.

[00:53:13] One of the screenshots was of Josh reposting one of the podcasts,

[00:53:19] something and saying something like being super supportive.

[00:53:22] And then the other screenshot was of Casey being, being like, I deleted

[00:53:28] Facebook a while back, but I re-downloaded the app just so I could come on here to

[00:53:32] tell everybody that I love my wife.

[00:53:34] And I'm like, when my besties husbands are this, like, of course my standards

[00:53:39] are high.

[00:53:39] Yeah.

[00:53:40] So I'm just like, yeah, I'm just going to hold out until my person shows up.

[00:53:45] If he wanted to, he would.

[00:53:47] Or she or they, you know, so agreed.

[00:53:50] Agreed.

[00:53:51] That was a fan girl freestyle.

[00:53:52] Couple goals in action.

[00:53:54] Absolutely.

[00:53:55] I love it.

[00:53:56] We don't have any announcements.

[00:53:57] I don't think we have stuff for me.

[00:53:59] Not for now.

[00:54:01] Um, not next week, but the week after I want to be here.

[00:54:05] Yes.

[00:54:05] Do not be alarmed.

[00:54:06] Everything's great.

[00:54:07] I'll probably talk about things afterwards.

[00:54:10] And I do have something super fun plan.

[00:54:13] It will not be a break from the podcast.

[00:54:15] It will just be a break for Mandy.

[00:54:17] Um, I do have something planned for that week.

[00:54:20] Mandy knows nothing about it.

[00:54:21] Nope.

[00:54:22] So I'm calling it my special Mandy surprise episode.

[00:54:25] Even on our calendar like that.

[00:54:27] It is on our calendar.

[00:54:28] It's it literally, I think it literally says the incoherent fangirl Mandy

[00:54:32] surprise episode, something like that.

[00:54:35] Um, so stay tuned and look forward to that because it'll be fun.

[00:54:39] I think it'll be fun.

[00:54:40] I hope it's going to be fun.

[00:54:42] It will be fun.

[00:54:43] All right.

[00:54:44] And now it is time for you.

[00:55:08] I've been doing that forever.

[00:55:10] I was like, where am I?

[00:55:11] I was about to start writing a second one, but then it

[00:55:14] was like 1130 at night and I was like, I'm going to bed instead.

[00:55:17] So more coming.

[00:55:19] I have like, I don't know.

[00:55:20] I have like 13 books I've read and still need to review.

[00:55:23] The reading is the easy part.

[00:55:25] The writing is the hard part.

[00:55:26] So hopefully maybe while I'm in my reading slump, it'll be

[00:59:14] He's only gone for a couple of days, but it will be a week.

[00:59:18] Totally.

[00:59:19] It's like Monday to Sunday.

[00:59:24] We, they took a few weeks off of the paranormal mind podcast for just

[00:59:29] cause they were traveling and filming, but we recorded several episodes this past

[00:59:34] weekend, one of which is on manifestation.

[00:59:38] I was like, Oh, this is an episode just for me.

[00:59:41] You're so good.

[00:59:42] I'm here.

[00:59:44] Shane said all the cool things.

[00:59:46] He didn't need me, but it was like, I've got to add my two cents because

[00:59:49] just, I have proof.

[00:59:53] Okay.

[00:59:53] Yes.

[00:59:54] I have actual proof.

[00:59:56] We went and found all of our, you know, I made you look up or I made you look

[01:00:01] up your human design, right?

[01:00:02] Or did I?

[01:00:03] Yeah.

[01:00:04] I couldn't remember if I looked it up or if you did.

[01:00:05] We looked up Josh's and Shane's.

[01:00:07] Shane's a manifesting generator.

[01:00:09] Josh is a generator and like the things that I'm reading, they're

[01:00:11] like, Whoa, wait, whoa.

[01:00:15] Um, so yeah, I don't know if that episode is going to be this week or

[01:00:19] next week when you're hearing this.

[01:00:20] Um, but there's a manifestation episode coming.

[01:00:23] Um, so you're going to want to go listen once you finished listening to this
